A total of 420 deaths due to cholera were reported in Haiti in 2016, an increase of 41 percent compared to 2015. According to data released on 29 Dec 2016 by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the disease also affected 39 000 persons [in Haiti] in 2016.
