We cordially invite you to contribute to the following webinar:
WEBINAR I (03.12.2021) time 15:00 -16:30 (European time)
Traditional and molecular indicators to characterise sewage in wastewater-based epidemiology
(joint HRWM + GWPP session).
Coordinators: Andreas H. Farnleitner, Joan Rose, Joy Kwanrawee Sirikanchana, Anicet Blanch
The webinar will give an overview on available microbial source tracking (MST) technologies and faecal indicators to support waste water based epidemiology (WBE) concerning data interpretation, improving data comparability and quality control from sewage surveillance activities.
You can find a word document for the submissions of a contribution from here: HRWMWebinar2021ApplicationForm_Webinar1
Presentation/discussion of MST markers and indicators (bacterial, viral, others) which enable,
i) the specific tracking of human sewage pollution,
ii) the characterisation of unknown sewage effluents,
iii) the normalisation of SARS-CoV-2 qPCR data, and
iv) the determination of microbial/viral treatment efficacies of WWTP.
Molecular (e.g. PCR based) and cultivation-based diagnostic methods will be of interest.
Following this webinar, participants will know
– useful MST markers (including bacterial and viral) to specifically track human faecal pollution and to differentiate from animal pollution,
– how to apply MST markers and indicators to sewage effluents and,
– how to use MST marker for normalisation of SARS-CoV-2 qPCR data
We apologize and ask for your understanding that, due to organisational reasons, the deadline for submissions for this first webinar in our series is very tight (November 8,2021).
We’ll try to do better next time! Promised!
Your HRWM Management Team
